On 19th and 20th September Sisgeo and our Polish partner GEOD participated to the 3rd Engineering Geology Workshop at the AGH University of Science and Technology Stanisław Staszic in Krakow. The workshop was addressed to professionals, companies and academicians and was organised by the Faculty of Geology, Geophysics and Environmental Protection and Department of Hydrogeology and Engineering Geology. GEOD and SISGEO held a workshop on “Drilling and sampling methods in geotechnical studies”, composed by a theoretical part in class and a practical part on field. During the theoretical lecture we introduced our products, focusing on digital BH-Profile IPI and their importance to perform an accurate, nearly real-time monitoring of critical locations. After the lecture, we moved to another area of the University for the practical session, which was held on an open field where we previously installed a 6m inclinometer tube. During this practical workshop we installed a chain composed by 4 digital biaxial BH-Profile IPI with 1m extension rods. The chain has been read with both our New Leonardo and our datalogger OMNIAlog and the data obtained have been shared with the participants. The attendees had the opportunity to see how quick is to install a BH-Profile IPI chain and how easy is to perform the readings with just one-click with the OMNIAlog datalogger. The unique opportunity to touch, use and handle our instruments have resulted in a high level of interest and great involvement of the whole class.
