General Guidelines for transport and storage

Sisgeo produces high-precision instrumentation that is manufactured and packaged with every necessary care. To ensure that the products arrive at the site of use or installation as soon as it leaves our laboratories, every care must be taken to avoid damage during transport and during storage (falls, shocks, excessive vibrations, etc.).

For more detailed instructions on specific products, please refer to the product documentation. If not better specified in the data sheet or product manual, please refer to the information in this document.

  1. TRANSPORT TO INSTALLATION SITE
The following instructions apply to the transport of the instruments to the installation site:
    • Transport the products in the packaging in which they were shipped.
    • Do not remove caps or other protection from products, cables, connectors, or any other parts shipped by Sisgeo.
    • If a forklift is used to move the packaged equipment, lift the package off the bottom of the box and make sure that the forks of the forklift do not puncture the package in order not to damage the products.
    • Do not stack packages on top of each other

  2. CHECKS TO BE CARRIED OUT ON RECEIPT OF THE EQUIPMENT
    • Check that the packaging and its contents are not damaged.
    • Check that nothing is missing and that the delivery corresponds to the order.
    • Download the user manuals for the equipment from the Sisgeo website.
    • Check that the Compliance Certificates and Calibration Reports have been received in the email box of the personnel who handled the purchase.

NOTE: Place the instruments in the packaging boxes and tape them up until installation. This will protect the products from damage.

  3. STORAGE
    • Leave the products in their original packaging, it offers optimal protection.
    • Do not stack packages on top of each other
    • The storage temperature range, unless otherwise stated in the data sheet of the products purchased, is -10…+50 °C (preferably +20 °C). For equipment with batteries, the storage temperature range should be between +10…+40 °C (preferably +20 °C).
    • During storage, the products must be protected from snow, rain and direct sunlight to avoid excessively high surface temperatures and to avoid the harmful effects of ultraviolet radiation (e.g. on PVC pipes).
    • Choose a storage location where moisture does not condense and avoid in any way that water and high humidity meet the stored equipment.
    • Do not remove caps or other protection from products, cables, connectors, or any other parts shipped by Sisgeo.
    • Readout units, data loggers and any equipment with rechargeable batteries must be periodically recharged every 30 days.
