Key Focus: Integrated and automated monitoring on a complex construction site

THE PROJECT

For a multi-billion-dollar medical campus redevelopment in Rochester, Minnesota, Terracon needed a monitoring approach capable of delivering reliable, automated data throughout a challenging construction program.

Spanning around 27 city blocks, the project includes demolition, utility improvements, mass bedrock excavation and blasting, as well as the construction of five new high-rise buildings and parking structures.

THE SOLUTION

Terracon’s solution brought together multiple technologies from Eddyfi Technologies Remote Monitoring Solutions:
– H-Level sensors from Sisgeo for high-precision automated monitoring of structural settlement connected to a Senceive GeoWAN Digital Interface Node

 – Senceive Tiltmeters and Optical Displacement Sensors to monitor changes in structural movement

THE OUTCOME

The technology offers a flexible long-term monitoring solution for this complex construction environment.
