The Andijan Dam, located on the Karadarya River in the Andijan region of Uzbekistan, is a significant hydroelectric facility. Constructed between 1964 and 1974, the dam plays a crucial role in both irrigation and power generation. The dam stands at 115 meters high and stretches 1,900 meters in length, creating the Andijan Reservoir with a capacity of about 1.9 billion cubic meters of water.

The hydroelectric power station associated with the dam generates approximately 150 MW of electricity, contributing to the local grid and supporting the region’s energy needs. Beyond power production, the dam is vital for agricultural irrigation, supplying water to vast areas of farmland in the Fergana Valley, one of Uzbekistan’s most fertile regions.

The first step was an inspection by Sisgeo’s technicians, after which they were able to assist the designer in defining the most innovative solutions for the rehabilitation of the monitoring system. Then they payed several visits to ensure the correct installation of the instrumentation, cabling, and configuration of the dataloggers, which integrated both wired and wireless automatic dataloggers.

Main equipment provided:

  • Self-compensated Pressure transducers
  • Thermometers
  • Digital Biaxial Tiltmeters
  • Manometers
  • Telecoordinometers
  • VW Crackmeters
  • Portable readouts
  • Automatic wired dataloggers
  • Automatic wireless dataloggers

The results achieved and the benefits for the customer include fully automated measurements with high accuracy and a significant reduction in costs.
