The Unión Vial Río Pamplonita Concessionaire is in charge of the Pamplona-Cúcuta dual carriageway, the most important road infrastructure work in Norte de Santander.
This project is a solution to the border mobility between Colombia and Venezuela, as well as with the northeast of Colombia.
The main characteristics of the project are:
- its length of 62.2 km;
- 50.2 km of new road construction (double carriageway and single carriageway);
- rehabilitation of 72.2 km existing road (Pamplona-Betania sector, Los Patios);
- two tunnels of 1.4 km and 1.1 km length;
- several bridges so divided: 25 vehicular, 4 pedestrian and rehabilitation of 23 existing bridges.
On the potentially unstable slopes of the new highway, Sisgeo Latinoamérica supplied and installed more than 150 DEX-S digital probes. Every chain of DEX-S is connected with digital radio datalogger and all the signals will be collected, in the future, by Gateways. These special 3D gauges will permit to keep under control the vertical and horizontal movements of the slopes during the operation.
In the tunnels have been installed structural pressure cells and 3-point Extensometers.
All the signals actually are collected in our switch terminal boxes ready for manual readings.
